ISTANBUL OLD CITY After breakfast, enjoy a fully guided tour of Istanbul to see for yourself its enchanting fusion of East and West. GALLIPOLI, BATTLEFIELDS We drive to the battlefields of Gallipoli. This site was where one of the more brutal campaigns of WWI occurred. Here, we’ll embark upon a guided tour of the region,including ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine Australian War Memorial and cemetery, Chunuk Bair New Zealand War Memorial and cemetery, the Nek, Johnston’s Jolly and the many fortified trenches still clearly visible amongst the scrub after all these years.

TROY, ACROPOLIS OF PERGAMUM Today we have a guided tour of the archaeological site of Troy. This famous ancient city contains remains of many civilisations layered on top of each other. It’s also home to the legendary Trojan horse story. Travelling along the coastline, we continue to the magnificent Acropolis of Pergamum, Asia Minor’s former political powerhouse, although now a laid-back market town packed with ancient sites. EPHESUS, KUSADASI Today we explore Ephesus and visit the site of the Temple of Artemis. Ephesus is by far the most preserved and intact ancient Roman City of the Eastern Mediterranean. Discover the place where Virgin Mary spent her last days. Get up close to Turkish culture with a visit to a rug maker and find out about local artistry with an authentic carpet-making demonstration – a craft this country is famous for. PERGE, ANTALYA We visit Perge, which was originally settled by the Hittites around 1500 BC and was one of the largest ancient cities in the Pamphylia region. We explore its impressive colonnaded street, baths, nymphaeum, stadium and Hellenistic gate.

GOREME, UCHISAR CASTLE Goreme is a magical little village set amid the surreal Cappadocia landscape.
