Remains of temples, holy places, houses, and settlements dating back from the Neolithic to the Roman periods. There is no place in the world where one will not find photographs of the Lion Terrace, with its unique marble Lions. The indoor Archaeological Museum is one of the best in the country. In fact, the site is so full and rich with antiquities that multiple visits are quite common. Only a short boat ride away, and history awaits you. A must for all visitors.

With our air-conditioned coach and guide, we will visit the beaches of Ag. Stefanos, Kalafatis, and Ag. Yiannis. Going to St. Stephanos we pass from Tourlos and the new port of the Island. Inland, we make a stop at the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani which was built in the 12th century (the Virgin Mary of Tourlos), with its intricately carved and gilded wooden Iconostasis. Enjoy the secret (or not so secret!) beauties... On the way back and while the sun (depending on the time of the year) is going to sunset we stop off at the Panorama point for pictures.
Notes: The tour runs in English, German, French and Italian, according to the number of participants. Other languages on request. Duration of the tour is two hours. It starts from Fabrica Square and it ends up at the same place.

A spectacular day on Tinos, exploring the interior of this very traditional island!
This tour gives you the opportunity to explore the beautiful interior of this artistic island. The beautiful and picturesque drive will be along winding mountain roads and will include several excellent stops. The first one will be at the old Monastery of Kechrovounie where we visit the two main churches, the tiny chapel, and the cell of the nun Pelagia, whose visions led to the discovery of the miraculous Icon of the Virgin Mary. We'll pass by the ancient fortress of Exobourgo on our way to the interior of the island and our next stop, the village of Volax. Here we have a chance to see some of the village's extraordinary surroundings and lovely folk architecture, as well as paying a visit to the famous basket weavers of the village. A long, scenic drive will bring us to the village of Pyrgos. The village is well known for its marble sculptors, and there will be several workshops open for a look at some of their work. Wandering through the town, you'll have a chance to see some of the lovely architecture of the village, as well as the town square with its massive plane tree. The tour will continue down to the old port of Panormos, where you will have time for swimming and lunch at one of the pretty seaside tavernas. As the tour is returning back to town, there will be a stop at the Valley of the Dovecotes, where you can take some excellent photos of these local treasures. At the end of the tour, there is an optional walking visit to the Church of the Panagia (no extra cost).

Following our boat trip from Mykonos to Tinos, the focus of this walking tour is the visit to the famous Church of the Panagia, to learn of its history and the special meaning that it holds in the hearts of the Greek Orthodox faithful.
In addition to the main church with the Icon of the Virgin Mary, our tour will include the baptism rooms; the site of the actual discovery of the Icon; the memorial to the Elli sailors who lost their lives when their ship was torpedoed in Tinos harbor in 1940; the museum of Tinian Artists; the museum of Gifts; and the Art Gallery with original works of famous Greek painters. A walk through the town will also highlight the architectural changes, from Venetian to Cycladic to Modern, and back again in reverse to the present revival of the Venetian style. The tour will also include a visit to the Archaeological Museum of Tinos, with finds dating back to the 5th Century BC. And, finally, no tour would be complete without a tour of the main shopping district, with tips on what to buy and where to find the best prices.
Notes: Suitable modest attire required for the visit to the Church of the Panagia.
