Today’s itinerary takes you deep into the heart of Istanbul’s imperial past. The day begins with a guided visit to Topkapi Palace, the former residence of Ottoman sultans. Today’s journey takes you through the scenic Pigeon Valley, known for its dovecotes carved into the cliffs, and the striking Red Valley, where colorful rock formations glow in the changing light. You'll also explore Çavuşin Village, a historic settlement with ancient cave homes and churches, offering a glimpse into the region’s past. The day ends in Avanos, a charming town on the banks of the Kızılırmak River, famous for its traditional pottery. Here, you’ll have the chance to see a pottery demonstration and maybe even try your hand at the wheel.

We’ll depart Cappadocia early this morning and travel southeast toward Adiyaman, passing through the city of Kahramanmaraş, famous for its unique regional culture and ice cream. The highlight of the day awaits in the evening: a sunset visit to the legendary Mount Nemrut, one of Turkey’s most awe-inspiring archaeological sites. As we ascend to the summit, you'll explore the Tombs of the Commagene Kingdom and stand among the Colossal Statues of Gods that have watched over this mountaintop for over 2,000 years. From the Tumulus of Antiochos, the former capital of the Commagene Kingdom, you'll witness a spectacular sunset as the sky fades into soft pastels over the Eastern Taurus Mountains — an unforgettable moment steeped in ancient mystery and beauty.

After breakfast, we’ll continue our journey southeast toward Şanlıurfa (Urfa), traveling along a scenic route that includes a stop at the massive Atatürk Dam, one of the largest in the Middle East. Along the way, we’ll visit the ancient town of Harran, famous for its beehive-shaped mud-brick houses and ruins dating back thousands of years — including the remains of what’s considered one of the world’s oldest universities. In Şanlıurfa, a city steeped in religious and historical significance, we’ll visit the Holy Pools of Abraham (Balıklıgöl), a tranquil site surrounded by legend and reverence. We’ll also step into the cave believed to be the birthplace of the Prophet Abraham, a place sacred to all three major monotheistic religions.

Often called the world’s first temple, this sacred site dates back over 11,000 years, predating Stonehenge, the Egyptian pyramids, and even the invention of pottery and writing. With its massive stone pillars and mysterious carvings, Göbekli Tepe is reshaping everything we thought we knew about early human civilization and spiritual life. After this unforgettable experience, we’ll continue exploring Şanlıurfa’s deep historical roots with visits to the Haleplibahçe Mosaic Museum, home to exquisite Roman mosaics; the Kızılkoyun Necropolis, where ancient rock-cut tombs line the hillside; and the Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum, one of Turkey’s most modern and comprehensive museums showcasing artifacts from prehistoric to Islamic times.

Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel before setting off on a scenic drive toward Gaziantep. Along the way, you’ll stop in the picturesque town of Halfeti, where you’ll enjoy a peaceful boat cruise along the Euphrates River. Glide past partially submerged buildings of the old town — remnants of a bygone era — and learn the unique story of this hidden gem, rich in culture and history. From Halfeti, continue your journey to Gaziantep, one of Turkey’s most vibrant and historic culinary capitals. Your first stop is the world-renowned Zeugma Mosaic Museum, home to some of the finest Roman mosaics ever uncovered. These intricate works of art offer a window into the daily lives and mythology of the ancient world. After the museum, you'll have free time in Gaziantep's lively city center. Explore bustling bazaars, shop for handmade copperware or pistachio treats, or enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the city’s many local restaurants. Whether you’re craving baklava, flame-grilled kebabs, or the city’s signature beyran soup, Gaziantep is a food lover’s dream. (Please note: lunch is not included, but your guide will offer great recommendations.) In the late afternoon, you’ll be transferred to Gaziantep Airport for your return flight to Istanbul.
